Fungal Laser Treatment

California Foot and Ankle Institute, Laser Treatment – Now Offers Erchonia’s Lunula Laser® for the Treatment of Onychomycosis ( Fungus Nails )

FDA-approved, non-thermal, non-invasive, pain-free laser treatment procedure with new clear nail growth in 6 months.

How Laser Treatment Works

Previously, treatment for nail fungus included prescription oral antifungal medication, which increased potential for liver toxicity issues, or else called for ineffective, over-the-counter topical creams.Introducing the Erchonia Lunula Laser®, the revolutionary low level laser therapy bringing new hope to people suffering from onychomycosis. Safe and effective, Lunula Laser® is the first and only non-thermal laser to receive FDA 510(k) Market Clearance for Onychomycosis. Lunula Laser®poses none of the risks and harmful side effects of oral anti-fungal medications and is painless, unlike other laser therapies.

What is the advantage utilizing a multiple diode approach in the treatment of Onychomycosis with the lunula laser?

  1. The 405 nm wavelength of the Lunula Laser provides anti-microbial, antibacterial and anti-fungal effects. This is critical to treatment results.
Other lasers only work on the anti-microbial, antibacterial and anti-fungal effects.
  2. The Lunula Laser also uses a 635 nm wavelength for treating fungal nails. It offers a distinct advantage over the other lasers in that it also addresses and improves the blood flow to the tissue being treated and creates an immunologic function which tends to prevent the recurrence of any fungus. This wavelength also induces tissue rejuvenation, increased vascularization, which enables the dual diode approach to accelerate the growth of new clear nail growth.
The Lunula Laser® is the only laser that does these additional features besides eliminating the fungus growth.

Love Your Skin and Nails Again with Laser Treatments

Fungal toenails plague the confidence of women and men alike. If you dread exposing your thick, brittle, discolored nails to the world and spend beach trips with your toes buried in the sand like a family of scared ostriches, please know you’re far from alone. It’s not difficult to pick up a fungal nail infection. Unprotected feet just have to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and conditions such as diabetes, poor circulation, excessive sweating, and trauma to the nails can make the odds all the more likely. Once picked up, fungal nails are much harder to get rid of; especially if not caught early. There is still plenty of hope for people who have lived with a stubborn fungal infection, however. Our FDA-approved laser therapy takes the fight directly to the fungus, providing a safe and effective way to treat infected nails without the potential side effects of oral medications.
