After 10 years in private practice, Dr. Goddard joined California Foot and Ankle Institute in 2012. He brings extensive surgical experience to the practice and is trained in minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Goddard is a native of southern California. He was born in Orange, CA, and grew up in Solvang, CA. Sports have been a significant part of his life and he developed an early passion for baseball. In high school, he played football and ran track (he is convinced the 400 meters is the greatest track event). Much of his approach to patient care comes from a humble appreciation of concepts such as teamwork, dedication, and constant learning, which he attributes to a competitive sports foundation.
In college, he began his studies in Architecture, but after his freshman year he knew he wanted to go into the healthcare field. He received his medical training at Kent State University/Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed a surgical residency in Los Angeles. In addition to his surgical residency training based in Los Angeles, he was intricately involved in the Baja Project for Cripple Children, a medical and surgical mission which served children and young adults in Mexico, Honduras, and El Salvador. After residency, Dr. Goddard received additional training in nerve decompression techniques and microsurgery of peripheral nerves at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He has been in private practice for 18 years. He prides himself in making the effort to develop a strong doctor-patient relationship. Dr Goddard lives in South Orange County with his wife and three children and spends some of his free time mountain biking, swimming, and woodworking.
