Our five podiatrists have a combined experience of over 144 years. Our complimentary initial office examination assists patients in determining treatment alternatives. We have continually been at the forefront of research and innovation in the practice of foot and ankle medicine - paying attention to resolving the underlying cause of patient pain, discomfort and loss of function - not just the superficial symptoms.
Our doctors share the same common belief that the best treatment alternative for a patient is the least invasive which offers the quickest recovery time.
1970 - Practice opened.
1976 - Developed foot surgery training program for outsid doctors.
1976 - First minimally invasive MIS bunion surgeries performed.
1981 - Dr. Hickey joined our practice. Trained and practiced MIS surgery since 1981.
1982 - Dr. Rueter joined our practice. Trained and practiced MIS surgery since 1982.
1984 - Became the first podiatric group in the U.S. to obtain Medicare certification for outpatient ambulatory surgical centers.
1999 - Dr. Weber traveled to Austria and Germany to study with the world’s leading experts in the field of shock wave therapy utilizing the OssaTron for heel pain treatment.
2000 - In October, became the first center in the Western U.S. to provide treatment for heel pain with the newly FDA approved “OssaTron”
2012 - Dr. Goddard Dr. Goddard joined California Foot & Ankle Institute in 2012 after 10 years in private practice. He received his surgical training through an internationally renowned residency program that included complex reconstruction of congenital foot, ankle and leg deformities. Dr. Goddard has been involved in dozens of medical missions to impoverished areas of Latin America. Dr. Goddard takes great pride in utilizing state-of-the-art technology to improve treatment outcomes while at the same time maintaining a strong doctor-patient relationship. Dr. Goddard is fluent in Spanish. Dr. Goddard is one of a few Podiatrists in the world that is trained in Nerve Decompression and Microscopic Peripheral Nerve Repair at the Mayo Clinic.
2015 - Dr. Hoeger joined California Foot & Ankle Institute after 4 years in private practice. He was trained in a level one trauma center in Western New York. He served as the chief resident in his 3rd year of the program. He has extensive training in all foot and ankle procedures. He spent several years in East Asia prior to his medical training and speaks conversational Mandarin Chinese.
